Fexcel for Scala contains an ETL ( extract transform load ) module to get data from Scala using user definable SQL statements. And a report definition module which is integrated in Excel. The printing module generates a PDF using Excel in the background filling spreadsheet's cells with actual data extracted from Scala. Theoretically, you can address from an Excel cell any data you might need in your daily reporting or financial statement. The modules are grouped in a batch and scheduled to run during the night audit preparing and distributing the required PDF reports.
